Let The Right One In:
Distressing
I was asked to help make some of the clothing items appear more worn and used. One item was the second dress that the lead actress wore. I made this dress look older and faded by using the Rit color remover product. The other item I was asked to work on was a pair of new shoes worn by one of the actors who bullied the other lead. I distressed these by using Schmere sticks, specifically the rottenstone color.

After the fade bath and a laundry cycle.

Rit color remover that I used for fading.

Color remover bath freshly made.

I stir the mixture to ensure the powder dissolves.

Before putting the garment into the fade bath, you soak it in cold water to ensure it fades evenly.

Dress put into the fade bath.

Dress in the fade bath about 40 minutes later.

Once I was happy with the color, I washed it with a dye-safe detergent in the washing machine.
